Why would anyone use someone else’s hand to show off their engagement pictures? Diana has a pretty good reason, apparently.
Diana is a nurse from Melbourne, Australia and it was THE day of her life when her boyfriend, José, proposed to her. But his timing could have been better. Well, it should have been better, because Diana did not have her nails done to show off her ring! Now she couldn’t be a disaster on social media with her undone nails, so she had to take the drastic step of using her cousin Jenna’s hand, who was right there and had her nails done (how convenient for Diana)!
This hilariously happy moment (also a little crazy, maybe) went viral on social media after it was shared on Twitter by Jenna.
“My cousin’s boyfriend proposed to her but she didn’t have her nails done,” the tweet read.
The photo of the happy couple celebrating their love vs the photo with Jenna stretching her hand to make the photo the perfect one hit it off on the internet, grabbing about 1 million likes and long threads of comments.
Diana was showered with a lot of love and support from women all over. There were comments where women mentioned that having good girlfriends like Jenna is very important and that this is the perfect warning to the men that they make sure their proposals are very carefully thought through and planned (ensure your girlfriend has her nails done before you propose, man!).
After the crazy dialled down a little on social media, Jenna explained on Twitter why Diana couldn’t get her nails done and needed help –

“Diana is a nurse so she never has her nails done,” she wrote on Twitter. “José planned this surprise proposal [and] couldn’t really get her to do her nails without raising suspicion.”
“José convinced Diana that the celebration was for his parent’s [sic] wedding anniversary, before getting on his knees and revealing that it was all really for her,” Jenna tweeted.
The couple had an interview with Good Morning America and expressed their joy of the special moment, describing it as “perfect”.
“We thought it was so funny and just for laughs, but it actually worked out really well. I’ve known this for years, but Jenna will definitely be my maid of honor. It’s something I want her to be a part of, and it will make it more memorable to have her by our side”, Diana said.
Well then, congratulations are in order!
With Jenna being on Diana’s side, we know that the wedding will be safe too!
