You plan the venue, the flowers, the photographs and probably a hundred other little things. Then a beluga appears in the background and becomes the most talked about guest. No invitation required.
A wedding photograph from Mystic Aquarium in Connecticut caught the internet’s attention in 2017 after Reddit user FishMcBite shared it for a Photoshop battle. The reported story is quite simple: the couple were getting married, and a curious beluga made the background a lot more interesting.
There is always someone who steals the picture
This playful illustration imagines that sort of unexpected interruption. It is a new drawing, with fictional guests, inspired by the idea of a wedding photobomb.

Look at that face. If a guest could ask “have you started without me?” without saying a word, this would be the look. The flowers can wait. Everybody is looking at the window now.
And then the internet gets involved
A picture with an unexpected expression is practically an invitation for people to add a story of their own. Give it to a Photoshop community and suddenly the background character becomes the main character.
That is what made this little moment so easy to enjoy. You do not need a long explanation. A wedding is supposed to be about the couple, and one very curious animal has decided to join the frame.
Would you be annoyed if a beluga photobombed your wedding picture? I think that would be the one photo everybody kept asking to see.
