So Drake has managed, very easily, to reign over the Billboard Hot 100 for 21 weeks in 2018 itself with his super famous song “In My Feelings” from the album, Scorpion. This song has become so phenomenal that it just beat “Harlem Shake”.

Billboard reported that “In My Feelings” has logged around 116.2 million US streams in the week ending July 19, a 62% boost over its previous chart-topping week. Thus, Drake has successfully erased Baauer’s legendary EDM “Harlem Shake” which has set the weekly record previous to “In My Feelings” in March 2013 with about 103.1 million streams.

To add to the fame of “In My Feelings”, it would be a shame if the viral video of Instagram comedian Shiggy is not given due credit. Shiggy danced to “In My Feelings” of which he took a video of and posted on Instagram as a dance challenge, with the hashtags #InMyFeelingsChallenge and #DoTheShiggy. This video went crazy viral and everyone on the face on Instagram started posting videos with #DoTheShiggy and thanks to Shiggy, the song received a huge spike in being the most popular song!

Harlem Shake has topped the Billboard Hot 100 for 5 weeks in 2013, and again, due credit to a viral YouTube dance video that was posted by George Millar, who used to then play the character of Filthy Frank on his then-active FilthyFrankTV channel. There were so many copycat videos of the “Harlem Shake” video that the song just went crazy and it was just till the bass drop in it that would make everyone go wild!

Both these songs have soaked up the internet, thanks to viral videos! Heaps of celebrities and thousands of fans have posted videos of themselves getting out of moving cars and “doing the shiggy” with the #InMyFeelingsChallenge. Will Smith set a super high standard with his dance – he climbed up the Chain Bridge in Budapest and showed his moves up there with drones filming the video.

Yup, that’s the kind of effect #InMyFeelingsChallenge and #DoTheShiggy has created, folks!
