Eating healthy is always the first and most important advice given in order to maintain a good digestive system and body functioning and fitness. What we eat and drink makes a BIG difference in how our body functions and this determines how healthy or weak we physically are.

Thanks to the busyness of life and crazy schedules, eating healthy has turned from being normal to a luxury. It is next to impossible to maintain healthy diets and make sure we eat foods with all the different kinds of nutrients, vitamins, minerals and proteins that our body needs to stay fit and healthy.

We try to keep healthy diets and I think that in itself is so stressful! It gets so difficult to coordinate daily meals with the healthy stuff. Try it and you’ll know it.

The good news is, we don’t really have to bang our heads for this whole “healthy diet” thing. I’ll tell you why. It’s not just a healthy diet that your body depends on. There are other ways to improve digestion and stay fit, if you are not able to stick to your healthy diets due to whatever reasons.

Here’s what those ways are –

  1. Drink LOTS of water

No matter how busy you are, drink a lot of water. Water is very important for our system functioning and keeps a lot of sicknesses and diseases away. If you are someone who needs reminding to drink water, keep alarms on your phone, but don’t miss out on drinking water. It is recommended that one drinks about 2 litres of water every day.

  1. Exercise

Not talking about a hardcore gym life here, but some basic exercises like brisk walking, jogging, cycling, skipping, crunches, etc. With a busy life, people tend to move away from exercising and that can affect the body negatively. Our digestive system works better when there is daily bodily exercise involved. The exercise produces sweat, which is important for digestion, blood flow and not to mention, fitness. It also adds to developing focus and energy in general, which adds value to the professional life too! So, find a spot in your daily schedule for at least 10-15 minutes and exercise away!

  1. Dietary Supplements

Probiotics and dietary supplements are designed for digestion and good body functioning. F you don’t usually eat a nutritious variety of foods, supplements like multivitamins, calcium capsules, etc. can help. Though these supplements cannot take the place of food, they do help in maintaining overall health and managing some health conditions.

  1. Rest

Rest is a concept most people today do not get, but it is key to a healthy body and mind. If we don’t get enough rest each day, then the stress of our busy schedules can majorly affect our system and apart from the mental health conditions that it can pave way to, it can also lead to issues like bloating, heartburn and other digestive problems. Good rest = less stress = proper digestion.
