Everyone wants to know how to get rid of that belly fat and get a nice, sexy, flat stomach. More than toning the body, most people just want a toned stomach – you know, lose the fat. That’s all that they really care about and then get obsessed with the crazy videos which promise a flat stomach within a week if you do a bunch of exercises. Some go to the extent of starving themselves, taking pills or worse, getting surgery!
What people forget is that you can’t lose fat from just one part of your body (I wish it was that way though), you must lose overall fat to be able to get your body toned and get rid of that belly fat. You can’t just lose belly fat.
Instead of watching videos on losing belly fat, you might actually want to do something about it. Here are some (easy, effective and non-training) ways that can help you lose that extra unwanted fat –
- Eating healthy
You losing that belly fat depends a lot on what you eat. Even if you are someone who hits the gym and is into fitness, if you eat junk food regularly, there is no way you’re getting that fit and toned body. Instead of eating all the junk which you love so much, eat whole foods like veggies, fruits, foods that contain fats, carbs and proteins. You don’t have to give up on your favourite junk food forever, but don’t make it a regular habit. A few cheat meals are allowed.
- Keep your alcohol consumption in check
This is equally important as eating. What you drink also plays a super major role in your quest for losing fat. Not saying that you cannot have alcohol at all, it is okay to drink occasionally. But if your alcohol consumption is something that you cannot keep in check because you want those beers every other day, you can forget about losing belly fat. Have your alcohol fun in the weekends, but during the week keep your body hydrated with water (lots of it), green tea, etc.
- Get proper sleep daily
Life gets so busy that sleep becomes insignificant. WRONG. Sleep is very important and cannot be ignored. Everyone needs about 7-8 hours of sleep every night to be able to function properly through the day and keep your health in check – here’s where your diet and fitness also comes into play. If you don’t sleep enough, you are sleep deprived, and that harms your body’s ability to use insulin. Now, if your insulin doesn’t work well, fat cells remove the lipids and fatty acids from your bloodstream and prevent storage. The fats circulate in you blood and pump out the insulin. This excess insulin eventually stores the fat in the wrong places and this is how you get fat and even get diseases like diabetes.
Bottom line: SLEEP WELL EVERY NIGHT
