No staff needed in this Wheelys convenience store and its literally unmanned

When we go to a convenience store we feel that most of the time is wasted in lines, checkout and some of us are even bothered by the staff of the store. And for the companies running the convenience store, the cost of employing people to handle the store is significant.

To counter all these issues, a innovative Swedish company Wheelys is coming up with a staff free, Wheelys 247 convenience store in Shanghai which will be controlled through an App. The store will be accessible 24 X 7, yes 24 hours, seven days a week, isn’t wonderful ?

The Company has already tested the prototype store in Sweden and after its successful run, it is looking for expansion and ready to open in Shanghai, which will be in a more busier setup.

To access the Wheelys 247 Store, the customer need to install the App on their phone and whatever product they want to buy in the store, they just need to scan the barcode using the App and leave the store. After they have left the store the credit card will be charges automatically for the products scanned for purchasing.

Off course the question that must be running in your head is that what about the security ? this will be done through monitoring with the help of security cameras installed in the store.

The Company has made their intention clear by making their slogan “what uber did for taxis, wheelys does for retail.”

This concept is for small business who want to try their hands in the retail business and due to cost constraint they are reluctant. The concept is similar to Amazon Checkout free store and Amazon with its sophisticated technology is bit advanced than this, as they don’t even require each product scanning. Since all these concept are just in starting phase, so to predict which one is better than other is difficult at this stage.

Wheely concept is to help small retailers and using this technology, the small retailers can surely rub shoulders with big brands.

These concept just leave us with the imagination that how future convenience store will look like.

Take a look at the store:
