Brian Atwood Brian Atwood is an American shoe designer who was the first American designer hired by the Italian fashion designer Gianni Versace in Milan and later went on to become the chief designer of women’s accessories. His shoe line consisting of high end shoes, Brian Atwood, was launched in 2001, which retails for $525-$2900. He also has a budget line of shoes named as B Brian Atwood. This brand retails for US$200 to 500 as opposed to his main line of high end shoes. His shoes were made popular by the pop star Lady Gaga who wore a pair of Brian Atwood custom made 10 inch Tribecca Sandals on her 30th birthday. The pop star has also been seen very often sporting a pair of Brian Atwood’s at various events.
6.Alexander Mcqueen Alexander McQueen is a British luxury fashion house founded by designer Alexander McQueen in 1992. Born as Lee Alexander McQueen, he is known for having worked as chief designer at Givenchy from 1996 to 2001 and for founding his own Alexander McQueen label. McQueen committed suicide in 2010 at the age of forty. His famous “armadillo shoes” cost $3,900 to $10,000 a pair, depending on style, skin, and embroidery; and they’re pretty much impossible to get. There are only 21 pairs in existence and even Lady Gaga wore a pair of them in her famous video “Bad Romance” and went on to buy three pairs of the “armadillo shoes” at an auction. And of course she’s one of the very few women who can walk in them.
5. Walter Steiger Walter Steiger is a French shoe company, founded in Geneva in 1932 by Walter Steiger senior making made-to-measure shoes for men and women. His eldest son, also Walter Steiger, started the ready-to-wear line in 1966, and opened the first shop in Paris in 1974, followed by stores in New York and London. It is said that Walter Steiger junior is primarily responsible for the growth and success of the brand. He is famous for the curved heels which are considered as unique innovation in footwear. It is difficult to make a curve shaped heel for a shoe but Walter Steiger has done this successfully.
4. Christian Louboutin Christian Louboutin is a French luxury footwear and fashion designer whose footwear has incorporated shiny, red-lacquered soles that have become his signature. Louboutin helped bring stilettos back into fashion in the 1990s and 2000s,designing dozens of styles with heel heights of 4.72 inches and higher. The designer’s professed goal has been to “make a woman look sexy, beautiful, to make her legs look as long as he can.” The most expensive shoes made by Christian Louboutin were from their 2013 collection. They were called the Sexy Strass and came with a price tag of $3,095.
